Just what are plans, exactly? Well they usually consist of components from the 5Ws: who, what, where, when, why, and sometimes how. In the context of casual planning, ‘why’ is too existential, so we’ll leave that out for now. ‘How’ is more of a logistics thing, which might be a fun addition to future thrillhop updates. ‘What’ is still up in the air, but I would like for users to have the choice of adding a title, description, and other information as it is necessary.
Anyway, I distill plans down into the following: when, where, and who.
Select your ‘when’
In the app, tapping on the hourglass on the map page brings up the details modal. In the modal, users can select if they want a start or end date, if the times are estimated, and what the date ranges look like. In the future, changing the start time will modify the map to show events that are happening during certain date ranges. Changing the time sets your ‘when.’
Find your ‘where’
Tapping on a marker on the map brings up posts from that location and sets your ‘where.’ That way, if you see that the posts are appealing or you want to make your own at that spot, you don’t have to type anything in or text anyone where to go—we’ll handle it.
Choose your ‘who’
When you have your place set, tapping the button at the bottom of the page will bring up your contacts. Choose whoever you want to join you at the date, time, and place you selected. Tapping send will automatically send either a text (if you contact does not have the app) or a notification (if they do). Boom, done.
